| Guest | WLM Newsreader I am having a hard time using the newsreader. This is the first time I have ever used any of Microsoft's email applications and the first time I have used a newsreader. Please excuse my ignorance. I switched from Yahoo Mail to Windows Live Mail for the purpose of using the newsreader as I grew tired of the limitations of the web interface to post to the discussion groups. Having discovered the ease, simplicity, convenience and advantages of using Windows Live mail I'll never go back to Yahoo Mail. However, my stupidity regarding the use of WLM amazes me. The help section of WLM is severely lacking in information and detail. Searching the web for answers produces no results. Searching Microsoft's websites produces no information either. I never seek assistance until I have searched for the answer myself because I don't expect someone to do my work for me. Anyway, I am having a problem viewing the discussions because the dates of the various postings are scrambled and out of order regarding the date they were posted. I have looked everywhere; the menu bar, options, right clicks on everything, etc, etc, etc. I want to view the postings in a descending order, starting with the current date. I would appreciate any help from anyone willing to provide it. I thank you in advance because I haven't determined yet how I will receive responses to my postings and/or where the responses will be located. If I can't find the responses I won't be able to thank anyone. Jesus, I can't believe how stupid I am. Nevertheless, I'll start a different thread for that subject. Or you can just click the word Sent and it will re-sort the messages. -- ©LarryEș "C.B." <notreallycbcbmullen@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:081B1C9E-CD21-4613-8353-2F0668C5AEC2@xxxxxx I am having a hard time using the newsreader. | Guest | Re: WLM Newsreader Additionally to keep posts and threads organized. On the WLM Menu click View/Current View/View by Conversation WLM also has an option to download 'x' number of posts, thus if you expect something to be visible(one your's or another's) you may have to download more posts. Tools/Get next 'x' headers - x is configurable under Tools/Options/Read/ look in the News category - additionally the Toolbar can be customized to add the 'Headers' category Finally if looking only for responses to your posts(assuming all headers are downloaded) View/Current View/Show Replies to My Messages -- ...winston ms-mvp windows live mail "C.B." <notreallycbcbmullen@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:081B1C9E-CD21-4613-8353-2F0668C5AEC2@xxxxxx I am having a hard time using the newsreader.
