Using find message function

When using the Edit - Find - Message feature, the find message function only
seems to allow searching within only one folder (and optionally, its
subfolders) for an account. For example, it does not allow one to search an
account's Inbox and Sent folders at the same time when doing a find.

Am I correct with the above? If so, I would suggest making that that type
of searching functional in a new release of WLM. Even better would be being
able to search across mutiple accounts using the Edit - Find - Message
feature. Outlook Express was able to do this.

I tried using the Windows Desktop Search feature, but I found it did not
pick up emails that the Edit - Find - Message feature did. Plus, it seemed
to slow up my computer.

I'm using version 2008 (12.0.1606).

RE: Using find message function

No, you are not correct with the above. Edit, find, message, then click
browse, and choose the name of the mail server you're using (left-click it
with the mouse, then click OK). Type in your search terms, and click on find
now.

Windows Desktop Search is great when it works properly, but it is not the
easiest of applications to get working. Assuming you're using XPSP2 and
WDS3.01 (you'll have to look under Add or Remove Programs to find what
version you have), here are a few things to check:

Versions prior to 3.01 were unstable and invasive, but this one seems to
chunter away happily in the background without having any noticeable effect
on whatever else is going on. My 'Find a message' wordwheel is amazingly
fast and accurate, so I never have to use Edit > Find.
