| | Error Moving WLM Storage Folder I am using WLM on XP SP2 and I really like it. I went to the Options/Advanced and selected a new directory for my file storage location. When I restarted WLM I got the attached error message and the move failed. Is there a way to get this to work? |

| | Re: Error Moving WLM Storage Folder Yes I created a new, empty directory first. | | Re: Error Moving WLM Storage Folder This is the first time I have heard of such a problem. Antivirus program perhaps, or a symptom of WLMail's shut-down bug? edb.log and tmp.edb have both been implicated in the shut-down bug. Try again, but this time, restart WLMail and change the location without doing anything else within WLMail, then immediately exit WLMail. -- Cheers, Peter (Windows Vista Home Premium with Windows Live Mail 12.0.1606) "There are more things in Heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy." - Shakespeare --------------- "SamH-one" <chaplainsam@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:2F1F7688-E316-4D86-ACE8-90987A0E3B2F@xxxxxx Quote: > Yes I created a new, empty directory first. > > > "Ron Sommer" <rsommer@xxxxxx> wrote in message > news:#TD8D7ybIHA.5128@xxxxxx Quote: Quote: >> Did you create the directory before you changed the location? >> -- >> Ronald Sommer >> >> "SamH-one" <chaplainsam@xxxxxx> wrote in message >> news:1E56F74E-CFCB-410F-8139-BF4854BE8CF5@xxxxxx Quote: Quote: Quote: >>> I am using WLM on XP SP2 and I really like it. Close any programs that might be using the file and try again. </text> <button> buttontext="OK" </button> </transcription> </attachment> If you want to try to identify other programs which might have that file open you could try using Process Explorer. E.g. press Ctrl-f in it to find file handles which contain .edb. FWIW when I do that I see multiple instances of tmp.edb but they are all for different files (e.g. different paths.) Good luck Robert Aldwinckle --- |
