| Guest | Re: Antivirus It depends on two primary things. 1. The type of account in WLM(pop3, http, etc) 2. The type of account BitDefender supports(pop3, http, etc) In general an AV supports pop3 accounts but not http. An AV usually has an option to enable or disable email scanning for both incoming and outgoing. - Note: Doing so can create problems with send and retrieving email(e.g timeout errors, disconnect from server) Most recommend to disable both email scanning(in/out) - if your AV is running in the background(resident), then email scanning is redundant since the main AV application is also protecting any document opened, attachment etc. The provider of an Http account may also provide some form of AV scanning for incoming and outgoing mail. Your isp may also scan incoming and outgoing mail for infection. -- ...winston ms-mvp windows live mail "robertoiglesias" <robertoiglesias@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:6364BE7B-5A5E-44AE-9677-54BA95AA94B6@xxxxxx How can I make sure that my antivirus bitdefender is working with windows live mail |
