Let's back up a bit..
Windows Live Mail will configure a pop3 account for Yahoo and Gmail only if the
a. Yahoo Plus in the U.S. is intact($20/yr)
- other countries may offer it for free but it may require manual configuration
b. Gmail needs to have Pop3 enabled via Gmail web interface(logon and configure in the options)
Your post shows the use of pop3.live.com
a. The live.com server is restricted to use for Legacy pop3 msn.com accounts and Windows Live Plus Hotmail account(msn.com,
live.com, hotmail.com @ $20/yr)
b. If you have one of these accounts and wish to use pop3,you will have to configure it manually since WLM will interpret these
accounts as an http account.
- A Windows Live Hotmail Plus account will function as an http account, but you won't have pop3 capabilities(leave on
server, rules etc)
- to configure a Plus account, when entering the email address enter it of the form username@xxxxxx, set the account up,
then modify it..
Here is a link with the complete settings http://liveunplugged.spaces.live.com...90CA!143.entry
All other pop3 accounts must be configured manually.
