You have to doubleclick on the message in the Status bar when it is there to get that. Otherwise the Working Online message covers it up. PITA. ---- |

That's different from OE. In OE Working... doesn't move. You can doubleclick in the rightmost panel of the Status bar at any time to open the Status window. A related annoyance is that in OE when you pin the Status window it has the additional consequence of opening automatically always. In WLMail pinning it is only effective once it has been opened manually. Quote: > I don't know what you mean by 'covers it up". However you regard it, when the Working... message and icon occupy the rightmost position of the Status bar, you can't doubleclick there to open the Status window. Robert --- |

Otherwise the Working Online message covers it up. PITA. filed was this bizarre behaviour. In OE, yes, double click the status message to open the progress window, but in WLMail it only needs a single click, whereupon the status message goes away and the "Working..." message shifts over to take its place. So, a double click will open the progress window and put you offline. It was sadly ignored. -- Noel |

| | Re: show progress window checking mail The WLM icon and 'text' in the lower right are toggles for Working Online and Working Offline. If a send and receive is being processed..the icon and Working "text" slide left and are replaced with the send/receive activity as it cycles through the check, authentication and retrieval process for each account[previously enabled to be checked. ] For a brief window of time..the Icon and Working 'text' remain in the left position, the right is replaced once complete with 'No New Messages' for another short window of time. For the second window, clicking on 'No New etc' will bring up the status window to view the status of that last send/receive. Once the window of time expires, the icon and Working 'text' returns to the right most position. -- ...winston ms-mvp windows live mail "Robert Aldwinckle" <robald@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:edZ4SJOeIHA.4144@xxxxxx Quote: > "Ron Sommer" <rsommer@xxxxxx> wrote in message > news:upcE4PNeIHA.4852@xxxxxx Quote: >> >> >> "Robert Aldwinckle" <robald@xxxxxx> wrote in message >> news:ezqzvYKeIHA.5560@xxxxxx Quote: >>> "kwirinus" <kwirinus@xxxxxx> wrote in message >>> news:OHJ0pqFeIHA.1168@xxxxxx >>>> installed live mail yesterday, and I can't see when or what I'm sending >>>> or >>>> receiving. in OE you see a progress window, but I can't find it here. >>>> anybody? thanks! >>> >>> >>> You have to doubleclick on the message in the Status bar when it is there >>> to get that.
