Cannot send email from Windows live mail

I have a free email account on AOL and have set it up on WLM. I can receive
emails but cannot send them receiving the following error code:
The host 'smpt.aol.com' could not be found. Please verify that you have
entered the server name correctly.

Subject 'list'
Server: 'smpt.aol.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0D
Protocol: SMTP
Port: 587
Secure(SSL): No
Socket Error: 11001

As far as I know I have entered all the account details correctly with the
info that AOL supplies. Please can anyone tell me where I am going wrong?

Try "smtp.aol.com", not "smpt.aol.com"

Hi thanks for your reply. I corrected the mistake.... and it is now coming up
with the following error;
The message could not be sent because the server rejected the sender's
e-mail address. The sender's e-mail address was 'bcdgn@xxxxxx'.

Subject 'TEST'
Server Error: 556
Server Response: 556 CLIENT AUTHENTICATION REQUIRED. USE ESMTP EHLO AND AUTH.
Server: 'smtp.aol.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC78
Protocol: SMTP
Port: 587
Secure(SSL): No

Right-click on the account in the Folder pane and select Properties. At the
bottom of the Servers tab, tick "My server requires authentication".
In the good old days, anyone could send mail to any old SMTP server. Now, to
combat spam, most will only accept messages from their own customers (in
your case, AOL), so you have to convince the server that you are in fact an
AOL customer by transmitting your password. Ticking that box will do just
that.
