WLM stops showing Sent email

I have two POP3 email accounts setup with WLM for about a week (new pc -
first with Vista). All of a sudden all my "Sent Items" from yesterday and
back are gone. Only the one email I sent today is in the "Sent Items"
folder. I made sure that under Options the "save sent messages" was checked.

Where did my sent emails go?

Re: WLM stops showing Sent email

Where are you looking for them? They should be in the Sent items folder
under each account. Check that you have View > Show all messages selected.
They should also be visible under Quick views > All sent items. Again, check
the View setting. If they are not there, your Quick views may have broken -
if so, see http://tinyurl.com/2zuv8u

If you still can't find them, look for them in folders under Storage folders
(View > Layout > Folder pane > Show Storage folders). There may be one
called Recovered items; use the little triangle that appears when you hover
over the name to expand the subfolders. If the missing messages are there,
WLMail has encountered a glitch somewhere and is attempting to rectify it,
and they may eventually reappear where they're supposed to be. Otherwise,
just drag and drop them into the right folder.

Re: WLM stops showing Sent email

Thanks for the help. I checked everything you mentioned. I think it may be a
Quick View issue. I don't use Quick Views very often, but I did delete one
or two Storage Folders. However, when I added All Sent Items to Quick Views
all the sent messages were there. Why they stopped appearing in the Sent
Items folder under each email account is beyond me.

Re: WLM stops showing Sent email

Are you saying that the sent messages have not reappeared in your 'Sent items' folder after you applied the registry fix for the Quick views? If not, then the problem goes beyond broken Quick views.

Have a look for the sent messages in your Windows Live Mail Message Store. Look in the "Sent Items" folder within the folder for your e-mail account, and also look for a "Recovered items" folder in the folder called "Storage Folders".

To find the location of your Message Store, go to Tools->Options...->Advanced [tab]->Maintenance->Store Folder (the default location is a hidden folder, so ensure "Show hidden files and folders" is checked under Folder Options in Windows Explorer).

The default location of the Message Store in Vista is:

%localappdata%\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail
(C:\Users\<Windows user account>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail)
