Re: disable ballon tip when minimize application

Hi, BeANew1.

Well, first, "WLMD" has not existed since last May when Microsoft dropped
the word "desktop" from the name of Windows Live Mail. (Pay no attention to
that word behind the curtain - or in the name of this newsgroup.)

What do you mean by "balloon tip"? Perhaps you need to change your setting
by right-clicking the WLM balloon in the Notification Area (near the clock)
and unchecking "Hide window when Inbox is minimized".

Re: disable ballon tip when minimize application

Hi, BeANew1.

Since you are posting via the web-based interface, I cannot tell whether you
are using Windows Live Mail (which I know a little about) or Windows Live
Hotmail (which I know NOTHING about) or some other application. I can't
even tell whether you are using WinXP or Vista or some other operating
system. And I'm not sure I've guessed correctly what you mean by the phrase
"balloon tip". :>(

IF you are using Windows Live Mail, then right-click the envelope icon in
the lower right corner near the clock. Do you see a context menu with 5
items? Is the 3rd item "Hide window when Inbox is minimized"? Is there a
checkmark in front of that item?

Re: disable balloon tip when minimize application

I think you are talking about the ToolTip notification when WLMail is minimised to the system tray, as shown in the screenshot below.

This ToolTip only displays for a few seconds, but to prevent it from displaying again, just click on it.

Re: disable ballon tip when minimize application

Hello,

So, i'm using WindowsXP SP2, And it's about Windows Live Mail.
I have already check "Hide window when Inbox is minimized" in the context
menu, but at each time i minimize, a message appear from the systray (Balloon
tip) who say ""Your application is still running etc..."

I found a way to resolve it :
in Regedit
Go to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\

Create a DWORD value of EnableBalloonTips

Give it a value of 0

Thanks for your patience.
