Can't send email with attachement properly

Hello!

Whenever i try to send an email with a attachement bigger than like
100kb, Live Mail stop sending all my email. Then I can to the
'sending' process and start it again, it will send maybe one email,
and then I have to do a stop and go again until all the messages are
sent, except the voluminous one which never get sent...

Anybody can help?
This is very frustrating since i use my email adress for work all
day...!

Re: Can't send email with attachement properly

Have never seen this issue and I regularly send attachments much bigger than
100K.
Is your attachment one of the blocked ones (vbs, exe etc. files)? or is it
just a regular picture or word docx?
Are you on dialup? Also what OS and which version of WLM are you using?

Re: Can't send email with attachement properly

I'm having the same problem...either these large attachments don't go through
at all or they take forever. I just bought this new computer with Vista and
am not at all impressed with WLM. Since I am no computer expert, these type
of problems throw me for a loop. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how
to remedy this problem?

Re: Can't send email with attachment properly

Firstly, make sure your antivirus, anti-spyware/adware, and firewall programs have all of their e-mail scanning options turned off. The e-mail scanning option is a redundant feature.

Secondly, double check all the settings for your e-mail account (Tools->Accounts...->Properties [button]) in WLMail, such as servers, SSL, and port numbers etc.

Is it a POP, IMAP, or Hotmail account?

If you have more than one account, do they all fail to send such attachments?

Do you get an error message when the sent e-mail fails to send?

Is your Internet connection Dial-up?

What version of Windows Live Mail are you using?

Re: Can't send email with attachment properly

Peter.R - Thanks for your help. I will check my anti-virus, anti-spyware and
firewall options today. Also my settings as you suggested. I don't know
what type of email acct mine is...it's either POP or IMAP. And I only have
one account.
I have received an error one time, but can't remember exactly what it said.
Now it goes through but can take forever.
I have DSL, not dial up and I'm not sure what version of WLM I am using, but
it should be the latest one, since I just downloaded it last week.

I will try your suggestions and respond again if the problem continues.

Re: Can't send email with attachment properly

I turned off the email scan for my anti-virus program, but couldn't find that
option for my firewall. I sent a 5.4GB pdf file and it took 1 hour and 10
minutes to send it...but it only took me 2 minutes to receive it....this is
very aggrevating as I have to send large attachments frequently for my
business. Any ideas why it takes so long to send attachments but I can
receive them quickly?
