Live Mail - New Mail Notification

I am having problems with new mail notifications.
Some times when I have new mail, no notification is provided.
Other times, I have a notification but no mail.
Its useless as it's working now.

I'm using Live Mail with GMAIL's smtp service along with Vista Home Basic.

I assume I'm not the only one experiencing this bug.

Has anyone got any idea as to what's causing this problem?

I guess I'm the only one with this problem! I guess there's not many using
"Live Mail". Do we have any software knowlegeable members in the group?

These instructions cover both the IMAP method of connecting
and the POP method. Choose one of these, and don't get
them mixed up.

So far you are the first one to report intermittent New Mail notification.
Lots of people are using Windows Live Mail. It has worked fine for me
the past 12 months. If it was a repeatable software bug, many more users
would be reporting this issue.

Works fine here on two machines using WLM without fail. It is actually quite annoying and there are plenty of times since toggling
it on after your report, I've felt like toggling the feature off or turn the speaker off.

I do know if you have a message rule that deletes the mail when it is
received you will still get a new mail notification that is was received
even though it was immediately deleted.
