Mark all read

When I right click on a top level folder, mark all read is always greyed
out. How can I fix this?

Re: Mark all read

Mark all as read only works for the specific folder that you select. If all
the items at that level are read then the option will be grayed out.

Re: Mark all read

News or Mail ?
In mail, at least one message in that respective folder needs to be 'unread' for the Mark All Read(Control Shift A) option to be
available.

If no messages are unread and the option is still not present, then WLM folder structure may be corrupt.
Close WLM and delete this registry key(it will be recreated on next WLM open)
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail\SearchFolderVersion
and/or
Force a compaction
Tools/Options/Advanced/Maintenance
- temporarily change the Compact Database on shutdown to 1
Click Close\Apply\OK
File/Exit

Re: Mark all read

I always use Ctrl-A followed by Ctrl-Q.

Re: Mark all read

Ctrl-Shift-A works, too - also available in the context menu for a
mail folder. If you prefer using buttons, how about Mark all
followed by Mark read?

Re: Mark all read

When I use Mark All, Mark Read is grayed out. The new messages are marked
yet still remain visible. When you leave the group, and return to it the
messages are gone.

The way it used to work is there was a Mark All Read button that basically
did the same thing. Perhaps the Mark Read is actually the old Mark All Read
with some (unknown) enhancements.

Re: Mark all read

I assumed that was what the Mark All button was for, I know if I click that
it turns all posts that are bold, as in not read, to a state of being no
longer bold meaning that they have been read.
I usually hit that followed by the one marked Next Folder.
