on-line storage at MS Live Mail server ?

hello,
1. Am I wrong if I compare Live Mail with some sophisticated Webmail
service, and that mails actually stay on the MS Live Mail server unless they
are manually downloaded for physical storage on my computer ?

2. Am I wrong if I say this is a most efficient way of using as little
bandwidth as possible, because the traffic is limited to what is displayed on
screen: the mails that are deleted without opening are never downloaded.

3. Am I wrong if I say that the mails are opened by an on-line asp
application, and not by some application on my computer ? What about the
attachments ? Are PDF attachments opened by an ASP PDF Reader, PPT files
opened by an ASP PowerPoint application ???? They open so fast, that I don't
believe they have time to be downloaded before opening (which would be the
case if locally opened).

What is the real situation ??!!!!

Regards,
Henry

- Http mail(Hotmail.com, Live.com and Msn.com) accounts in WLM remain on the hotmail server until deleted in WLM or deleted via
the web interface(mail.live.com or hotmail.com)
- Pop3 accounts operate differently but since you asked about the 'Live Mail' server it does not apply unless you have a legacy
msn pop3 account(the only pop3 account that can also be acessed via the Live Mail server)

- mails is downloaded and opened locally. Attachments require a local program associated with the attachment's file type to
open.

Note: - you can decide on your own about being right or wrong
