DTD feeds and RSS Question

I belong to a Google Group and tried to establish an RSS feed to WLM and IE.
The Feed folder for my Google Group was established along with my other
feeds but nothing comes to it. I have now seen that IE does not support DTD
feeds for reasons of security which I don't fully understand (my ignorance
of subject). I also read that there may be ways to get around this but
again didn't quite understand. Is there something simple that I need to set
or is this situation something I can't get around....ie. I can't get feeds
from Google groups.

I have no experience of this, but I just visited a Google Group using IE7.
The Feeds button on the toolbar showed both RSS and Atom feeds; I selected
the RSS one and checked Subscribe to this feed. It now appears in WLMail's
Feeds view.
There may be some difference between various Google Groups, so you'd better
say what steps you took to subscribe.

That's what I did.....subscribed ...and yes, then it appeared in my WLM
feeds view. But, nothing comes to it, ie. no news/postings....and when I
was investigating this, I found this info that "IE7/WLM does not support
"DTD feeds" ...so my problem is still around not understanding DTD feeds and
whether there is away around them or a way to receive them???

Perhaps someone can explain to us a little more about what DTD feeds are,
and why they are not supported by IE7/WLM. (and is this really why I'm not
getting any news or postings from that Google group.
