Importing Second Identity from OE

Just downloaded Windows Live Mail and discovered that it automatically
imported an account and its messges from Outlook Express... would have been
nice if it had asked first! All looks okay, old OE is still working...
BUT... I had two identities on Outlook Express and can't figure out how to
import the second one to Windows Live Mail. WLM found the .iaf files for the
primary identity in OE, but where do I point it for the second one?

Would it help to give it a copy of the Outlook Express directory to import
from in
which you have deleted the .iaf files for the primary account?

Re: Importing Second Identity from OE

Don't know what happened to my reply on that last post; disappeared. I did a
Windows Search for *.iaf and found nothing. Windows Live Mail found the
Inbox from OE, but did not import the Sent files or the second identity.
Cannot figure this out!

Re: Importing Second Identity from OE

The Windows search may not be set to include the directory Outlook
Express uses in the directories it includes in its search. You may want
to ask in an Outlook Express newsgroup how to find the directory
Outlook Express uses for user files. For example:

microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress

Also, there's the possibility that Outlook Express doesn't keep its
account information in .iaf files, and only creates them when you tell
it to export the account information.

RE: Importing Second Identity from OE

Getting there... but! Figured out the .iaf business; sure enough, one was
created when I exported from OE. I was able to import the account, but the
files (Inbox, Sent, etc.) didn't come with it... just the setups. Still
agonizing over this.
