| Guest | Group Contacts 1) I am unable to find a way to insert my group contacts into an Live e-mail other than inserting them individually. I should be able to insert them all at once. What's the sense of the group function ????? I can do the same from my contacts. 2) I also couldn't find a way to copy the group's e-mail address to an e-mail generated outside of Live. |

| Guest | Re: Group Contacts 1. Just select the name of the group. 2. What do you mean by "outside of Live"? -- Vista Home Premium 32 SP1 http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview "ben2h" <ben2h@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:1803574F-BBFA-441E-A34F-DED2DE733775@xxxxxx

| Guest | Re: Group Contacts 1) DUH..... Thanks, Dave! (I've never used the group feature in any e-mail program therefore never thought to scroll down to the end of the listings). 2) Is it possible to copy and insert the group into say, a news article from Yahoo that I want to send to them; this is instead of having to either type or copy and pasting each address individually? | Guest | Re: Group Contacts Unless I am mistaken on what your are trying to attempt... - If reading a news article on a web page, why not use the send to option in the browser, once WLM loads, select the group ... -- ...winston ms-mvp windows live mail "ben2h" <ben2h@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:C3B51712-964C-419B-8159-45FF6D93A7F1@xxxxxx

| Guest | Re: Group Contacts No, the group won't work outside of WLM. Instead of clicking on the "Email Story" link... If you are using Internet Explorer 7, click on File - Send - Link by email this should open the default email program, and if that is WLM, then you can enter the group name and send. (if you don't see File, press Alt) If you are using Firefox, just right-click, and select "send link" -- Vista Home Premium 32 SP1 http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview "ben2h" <ben2h@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:C3B51712-964C-419B-8159-45FF6D93A7F1@xxxxxx

| Guest | Re: Group Contacts from my understanding that, the Windows live Contacts GROUP doesn't sync with Vista Windows contact group. once you take the Live contacts Encrypt From the WLM (Option-Security-Encrypt contact list data so that it is not accessible outside of Windows Live Messenger), you will be able to access it from C:\Users\Administrator\Contacts However, by the meantime, you lost some info ,such as contact E-mail, also the Group Information. with the Contact E-mail, it just never dispaly the "IM E-mail Account", which also used by most people as E-mail inbox. with the Group Information, when you open that file.group there is no contacts be listed. when you manually add your contacts on Vista, it wouldn't be updated on Windows Live Contacts. so, please fix that Sync issue. | Guest | Re: Group Contacts the other thing what I found wired is, every time you edit the Contacts from Windows live mail contacts software, it will NOT take effect into the C:\Users\Administrator\Contacts\you e-mail adress. then when you open up the Windows Live messager, it will take a few seconds to upload the info. at this time the contacts under C:\Users\Administrator\Contacts will be updated. so, I guess the Windows Live Messager reader the online Windows Live Contacts database, while Windows Live Contacts software update directually into online database. then when open the Live messager, it be downloaded and write the local folder (C:\Users\Administrator\Contacts) "...winston" wrote:

| Guest | Re: Group Contacts Ryan, While on a rare occasion someone from Msft might read a post in this group, it is primarily and should be understood as a group of Windows Live Mail(WLM) users like yourself (all volunteers) sharing information on use of the product and possible solutions(tribal knowledge or available web based documentation). If you're using WLM, to submit suggestions on changes in WLM then via the Menu bar click on Help/Send Feedback. You are correct. Windows Live Mail and Vista Contacts are not sync'ed. To maintain the same Contact list in both export the desired as a *.csv file then import into the other. Repeat when necessary. On the other hand WLM, WLMessenger and Hotmail all sync(not immediately) with the same Contacts. Choose one and maintain it..the others will follow. -- ...winston ms-mvp windows live mail "Ryan Zhang" <RyanZhang@xxxxxx> wrote in message news 3578DC2-8DEA-4F74-B108-3A4C049989AF@xxxxxx
