Vista - Unable to send outgoing email

All of a sudden out of the blue I can't send mail as per below?

The connection to the server has failed.

Port: 25
Secure(SSL): No
Socket Error: 10061

If you're sure your Internet connection is working normally and you haven't
changed any AV or firewall settings, try using port 587 instead of 25.
Right-click on the account name in the Folder pane and select Properties. On
the Advanced tab, Outgoing mail (SMTP): type 587 in the box.

If you have a crossover connection, you may want to check if
Comcast allows a webmail connection, which uses yet another
port.

I am having the exact same issue...and I use smtp.comcast.net as well. This
just started happening last week.

Any help greatly appreciated...

This solved my problem which had me frustrated, since I had to work with
webmail. After weeks of not finding a solution I was about to give up on the
search... wish I had realized this website earlier =)
