Unable to send outgoing email

All of a sudden out of the blue I can't send mail as per below?

The connection to the server has failed.

Subject 'MAJOR COMPLAINT'
Server: 'smtp.comcast.net'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0E
Protocol: SMTP
Port: 25
Secure(SSL): No
Socket Error: 10061

Re: Unable to send outgoing email

If you're sure your Internet connection is working normally and you haven't
changed any AV or firewall settings, try using port 587 instead of 25.
Right-click on the account name in the Folder pane and select Properties. On
the Advanced tab, Outgoing mail (SMTP): type 587 in the box.

Does your connection to the outgoing mail server cross over from
one internet provider's equipment to another's before it reaches the
server? Travelling to where you use a different internet provider
often does this. Also, using a wireless connection can do this if
it suddenly starts using a neighbor's wireless server instead of your
own. If it does cross over, many email providers block such
connections to port 25 and I think I've seen a mesage saying
Comcast blocks them if they go to port 587 as well.

If you have a crossover connection, you may want to check if
Comcast allows a webmail connection, which uses yet another
port.

Comcast has started making their users change to a different port for
outgoing mail, and has not been very good at telling their users about
this.

These instructions were written for Windows Mail, but you might want
to check if they also work under Windows Live Mail:
