Storage Folders

Ive imported my old emails from Thunderbird which now appear in the Storage
folders. Are these stored online like the live mail account or locally?

Re: Storage Folders

Only Live ID accounts in WLM and only when associated with a Live.com/Msn.com/Hotmail.com email account are stored on-line.

WLM when setting up a Live.com/Msn.com/Hotmail.com account will synchronize folders and messages with the online folders and create
those same folders/messages locally in WLM and on the hard drive(by account name) in your user profile. Each email message created
will its own file with a *.eml extension.

When WLM sets up a pop3 account, only the standard folders are created[Inbox, Drafts, Sent, Junk, Deleted] and synchronization is
not performed for folders or messages. The user must create any additional folders themselves. Only new downloaded messages will
be delivered to the pop3 inbox. User created rules can be used to move new messages to any other folder upon delivery or move
manually via drag and drop.

To move messages from the Storage folders to a specific synchronized or not synchronized account(assuming the account is created in
WLM) --use the drag and drop method. If subfolders in a specific account need to be created, do so, prior to drag/drop.
