Re: unable to send but can recieve

Oh dear, this is all that I see of this thread, not sure where the rest went
to?

Tools>accounts>select your account>properties>
Change your server settings to :
pop.freeserve.com
smtp.freeserve.com
On the advanced tab the Outgoing port should be 25.
Apply and OK all changes.

Re: unable to send but can recieve

According to
http://help.orange.co.uk/documentDisplay.do?clusterName=DefaultCluster&preview=1&groupId=1&page=&docType=1006&resultType=5002&docProp=$solution_id&docPropValue=kb4471

the outgoing (SMTP) server name is indeed smtp.orangehome.co.uk
and the port is 25. However, like Dave, I was unable to make a telnet
connection to that server/port, even though my ISP does not block
port 25. So, there is something fishy going on. Perhaps the
published directions are obsolete. Call your ISP and get updated
mail setup information from them.

Re: unable to send but can recieve

not sure if this will help but I use comcast and they changed to where the
server needs authentication and a code was 587 and that allows you to send
thru their server.

Re: unable to send but can recieve

Ok, I have to think you general connection is ok since you are talking to
us. If you are sure you went through all the steps then we need to take a
look at other things. Try shutting down your AV software. If that doesn't
help, remove it. If that doesn't help, go to the AV software site, get the
removal tool and remove all vestiges of it.
