Re: unable to send but can recieve

I agree with Dave. What with all the problems that Orange is having,
you would do better by opening a free Gmail account. Then you can
change the SMTP settings in your current mail account to Gmail, but
keep the incoming server settings the same.

Re: unable to send but can recieve

would that mean that I do not to have to advise people that I have changed
email address and can keep getting the emails from the old address?

Re: unable to send but can recieve

Hi guys
thanks for your help, have gone for the gmail option and can now send out
okay. Have set the gmail account to forward anything that people just hit
the reply button for and it says it is sending out to the orange account
although the orange email seems to be slow in collecting it. but I think
this is the way forward. thanks for all you help. TLM

Re: unable to send but can recieve

If you change only the outgoing mail server, but not the incoming mail
server or the return address, few people will be able to even notice
the difference.

Re: unable to send but can recieve

Nothing on the receive side changes, so correspondents can
continue to email you at the old address.

You can either set up Gmail as a separate account, or you can
just use the Gmail SMTP server in your existing account.
