Re: unable to send but can recieve

If that's an accurate quoting of the error message, you need to remove the
spaces from the server name.
SMTP.orangehome.co.uk

<http://help.orange.co.uk/documentDisplay.do?clusterName=DefaultCluster&preview=1&groupId=1&page=&docType=1006&resultType=5002&docProp=$solution_id&docPropValue=kb79>

Re: unable to send but can recieve

Don't transcribe the error message, copy & paste it.
We can't tell if he errors we see (such as spaces in the server name)
are your transcribing typos or whether your settings are really that way.

Re: unable to send but can recieve

Ok. It looks like your settings are correct according to what I've found,
but I'm in the US, and not familiar with Orange.
Has your account ever worked?
I have tried to telnet into the server, but have not been able to connect.
Perhaps you need to contact Orange.

Re: unable to send but can recieve

Hi Gary
read your response and resent original error. read yours and other
potential remedies in other news groups and tried changing the port ,error
message comes back the same. Also tried turning off windows defender in case
that was it and it's spyware. error message never changes.
The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'hello', Account: 'orange',
Server: 'SMTP.orange.co.uk', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 587, Secure(SSL): No,
Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E
anything else i can try?

Re: unable to send but can recieve

Some servers are case sensitive. Try setting "smtp" and "pop" while you are
at it, to lower case. Oh, and make sure "this server requires
authentication" is off. Double check this against your provider's e-mail
help setup web page.
