later. To get help from Windows Live Customer Support, go to
http://support.live.com and click Windows Live Mail in the list of services.

Re: unable to send and received windows live mails with mail desktop

Typically a server issue at the Hotmail end.
If you can logon with your Live ID via the hotmail interface and sending and retrieving works which would also validate your Live
ID account's functionality then.....
You might temporarily change the 'server' [in WLM by accessing the accounts properties] to use
http://mail.services.live.com/DeltaS....0.0/Sync.aspx
http://mail.services.live.com/DeltaS....0.0/Sync.aspx

Note: the above links are not clickable links even though they may appear to be..cut and paste the above to the server field in the
accounts properties(WLM/Tools/Accounts/etc)

Finally, if you are using the 'Desktop' version which was a much older beta version from last year then upgrade to the current via
http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview.
To determine your version---WLM/Help/About
The current version is 12.0.1606 and is termed Windows Live Mail (no Desktop)

Re: unable to send and received windows live mails with mail deskt

I have the same issue. Error message reads as below, even after I've tried to
change the server in properties. All other e-mail addresses work so its
definitely a Hotmail problem. I can access hotmail directly, but not through
WLM:

Unable to send or receive messages for the Hotmail.co (stevefahy) account.
To send and receive messages in your Hotmail account, go to
http://hotmail.live.com on the Web, or try again later. To get help from
Windows Live Customer Support, go to http://support.live.com and click

FWIW I'm wondering if that may be an obsolete message.
E.g. here is where telnet shows you would be redirected to
if you used that server name:

Location:
http://login.live.com/login.srf?wa=w....aspx&id=64855

So, if you're going to end up at mail.live.com
perhaps it would be better starting there? ; )

I.e., see if you get any different symptoms starting with this:

http://mail.live.com/

Oops. Better make sure that you are not currently signed in
with a non-Hotmail passport account... ; )

Anyway, that one works for me. And it redirects to yet another
different server name after sign-in is done. ; }

Also, another thing that testing with telnet with that other name showed
is that it prefers to connect with HTTP 1.1 protocol.
E.g. doing just a GET / there got an HTTP 400 error message.
YMMV.

Good luck

RE: unable to send and received windows live mails with mail desktop

I am having the same 4102 problem with the same "appears in more than one
command". I have uninstalled WLM and reinstalled to no avail. When I
connect using Outlook, I do not have a problem. I can also access my e-mail
on line by logging on here:
http://login.live.com/login.srf?wa=w...59265&id=64855

Changing the server to:
http://mail.services.live.com/DeltaS....0.0/Sync.aspx' did nothing.
If anyone can help please contact me at FUNFOTOS AT MSN DOT COM
Thanks.
