Windows Mail

I can no longer (and suddenly) receive/send mail in Windows Mail. I receive
the following error message:
"The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'pop.att.yahoo.com',
Server: 'pop.att.yahoo.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No,
Socket Error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E"
The other port is 25.
My server is Att/Yahoo.

Can anyone help?

Your ISP is 'at&t Yahoo! HSI'. Several months ago they made some changes to
their servers:

You should note that they now require access to port 995 w/SSL enabled for
the POP3 server, and port 465 w/SSL enable for the SMTP server.

There is another change that you should be aware of with the SMTP message
submission server ('smtp.att.yahoo.com'):

http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mai...ndfrom-07.html

If you use an email address other than the one for the account you sign in
to the server with, you have to go through an email verification process, or
the send will fail.

Re: Windows Mail

Your mail provider has been sending out notices for the past 10 months
saying that all customers must switch to the SSL-enabled ports. (I know
because I use the same mail provider.) Change your settings to match
the ones shown in the last section on this web page:
