| Guest | Saving mail to Storage Folders I do not see any "help" to move messages to the storage folders. When I right click on a message and am offered the prompt "move to..", it gives me an error message. I would like to be able to get these messages off the server, if I do not plan to delete them, but... so far, I have not been able to accomplish this action. -- Keep the info coming... Willow |

| Guest | Re: Saving mail to Storage Folders Have you created a folder in the Storage Folder to hold the intended messages ? Does drag and drop work ? | Guest | Re: Saving mail to Storage Folders Hi! Thanx for your reply. I am referring to the mail I receive from Windows Live Mail. Thus, it is mail coming in. I would like to move the incoming mail to the storage folder that is labeled "Inbox" under "Storage Folders." I have tried drag and drop, but this action is not allowed. The system give me an "error" message ("an unknow error has occurred"). Will welcome another response. -- Keep the info coming... Willow "Ron Sommer" wrote:

| Guest | Re: Saving mail to Storage Folders Ron, sorry the primary account IS a pop account (off my server). However, I just moving a message again, but this time, I formed a new folder. It worked, however, what is, then, the purpose for having the other folders listed under "Storage Folders?" They are: Drafts, Sent Items, Deleted Items, INBOX, Junk eE-mail, Outbox, and a couple that I previously had created. If I can move a message to a newly created folder, under "Storage folders," then why can't I move from the SERVER Inbox to the STORAGE Inbox? Mercy, so perplexing. I do declare! | Guest | Re: Saving mail to Storage Folders I don't have an Inbox or Junk E-mail folder under Storage folders. The other standard folders there are for newsgroup messages. -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (WLMail) "willow1948" <willow1948@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:1E28EB36-1367-4533-BB31-E60E095B3EF6@xxxxxx

| Guest | Re: Saving mail to Storage Folders Could it be that the 'extra' folders - inbox, junk e-mail and outbox - came across when you upgraded from a beta version of the program? If so, they have special status, which basically means you can't use them. If you delete them (assuming there's nothing of interest in them), you'll probably break your Quick views, but this can easily be remedied (see several posts in the last couple of weeks on the subject). Then you should be in a position to set up folders of your choice under Storage folders and move messages to them with impunity. However, I see little merit in moving POP messages to Storage folders. You could just as well set up folders under a POP account to store messages in, in which case you could classify them, and they would be near the top of the Folder tree, instead of at the bottom of it where Storage folders get lost if you have a lot of accounts like me. -- Noel "willow1948" <willow1948@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:1E28EB36-1367-4533-BB31-E60E095B3EF6@xxxxxx

| Guest | Re: Saving mail to Storage Folders Asked earlier <qp> Have you created a folder in the Storage Folder to hold the intended messages ? </qp> I.e. Create a folder in the storage folder, then drag and drop and move will function to that folder. -- ...winston ms-mvp windows live mail "willow1948" <willow1948@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:72FEC8F6-0D1C-4EE1-A74E-8EDD3EB46815@xxxxxx Hi! | Guest | Re: Saving mail to Storage Folders I assume Willow has multiple mail accounts and wants a consolidated place that shows all inbound mail that's not been filed - ie a single pending tray.. If the Quick Views folder is selected - ie the one at the very top, then it lists the mail in the inbox of each mail account - a'voila a consolidated pending tray. "Gary VanderMolen" wrote:
