| Guest | remove Live Mail files After tried Windows Live Mail, I've uninstalled it. Then I've noticed that even after uninstallation in the AppData User folder a lot of files are still kept and occupy a huge amount of data... Of course "amount of data" depends on how many email you had downloaded from your own POP3 server C:\Users\Name_of_User.DOMAIN\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail\DomainName f14\Inbox\003507CF-000001F8.eml : OECustomProperty (709 bytes) In WindowsLiveMail.log, generated on installation (found in C:\Users\Name_of_User.DOMAIN\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail) it looks like the program migrate dbx files from usual directory used by Windows Mail to the Windows Live Mail folder. | Guest | Re: remove Live Mail files dbx files are from OE, Windows Mail uses eml files. The Windows Mail log entry for db refers to 'database' not OE's dbx files. If the contents of your folder C:\Users\Name_of_User.DOMAIN\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail are no longer useful, they can be deleted. Note: Since this is Vista, you may be prompted to approve and/or be required to have full permission to do so. -- ...winston ms-mvp windows live mail "Matteo" <Matteo@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:0B1DD4BD-A71B-4DB7-B641-FD3FC2BAFB53@xxxxxx After tried Windows Live Mail, I've uninstalled it. | Guest | Re: remove Live Mail files Thank you both for your reply. I've done the disk cleanup but files (and folders) were not affected (or deleted). So I've deleted them manually as ...winston suggested That works! ![]() Thank you again, regards. Matteo "...winston" wrote:
