When updating contacts in Windows Live Mail does not generate an updated Windows Live Messenger List in WLM

I have not found a way to transfer the contact list I have from WLMail to
WLMessenger

There is an option in WLMessenger to import contact list, a *.ctt file

There is no option in WLMail to export contact list, nor is there an option
to save contact list and then from within WLMessenger import it.

Please advise me on this issue

You don't need to. Just sign in with your Messenger Live ID - the two share
the same contacts list. From Help:
"You can use the Windows Live Mail address book to store personal
information about people you know. If you're signed in to Windows Live Mail
with a Windows Live ID, any changes that you make to your contacts also take
effect in Windows Live Messenger, Windows Live Hotmail, and other products
that use Windows Live Contacts."

Thank you very much, and I also just discovered that I can use emails from
my contacts in WLMail and make them be used by WLMessenger

Re: When updating contacts in Windows Live Mail does not generate an updated Windows Live Messenger List in WLM

As a follow up...

If you are like many having multiple email addresses(pop3 or http) in WLM and/or other email clients of your choice in use, then:
- Do consider using WLM's option to backup your contacts locally by exporting and saving as a csv file.
- Note: Hotmail's web interface also provides the same option for exporting to a csv file.

In the event that you decide to create another Live ID, pop3 account, or change isp providers and retain some sense of separation
between(amongst) accounts or need a prior contact list the csv file can be imported to save effort on manual reentry in WLM and
most other stand-alone email clients(e.g. Outlook, etc)
