Vista - Windows Live Mail Lost email account

One of my email accounts is no longer listed underWLMD. I'm not sure why but
the PC did a re-boot yesterday and said it had recovered from a serious
error. After this one of the email accounts was gone. I've recreated the
account. Is there any way of recovering the lost emails from the orginal
account? There doesn't appear to be anything in the recovered items folder.

They would only be lost if this was a POP3 account and 'Leave a copy of
messages on server' was not selected at account > Properties > Advanced.
Have a look in your Store folder (Options > Advanced > Maintenance >Store
folder will tell you where it is). Is there more than one folder called
something like Account name, possibly with a number in brackets after it? If
so, the second oldest will probably contain your lost messages as .eml files
in sub-folders for Inbox, Drafts etc. Copy this folder to your desktop; then
you can drag the messages from there to the appropriate folder in the WLMail
folder pane. Don't try moving messages around in the Store folder in Windows
Explorer: you'll foul up the MessageStore database if you do.
