| | RE: Message could not be displayed Message could not be displayed Windows Live Mail encountered an unexpected problem while displaying this message. Check your computer for low memory or low disk space and try again. This is the only thing we get when we try to view a hotmail message. Anyone any idea as to why this is happening? |

If so, please copy and paste it into a reply here. -- Noel "Kevin and Seri" <Kevin and Seri@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:45DCD5F3-36EB-4793-86D2-E84D47BD2759@xxxxxx Quote: > Message could not be displayed > Windows Live Mail encountered an unexpected problem while displaying this > message. | | Re: Message could not be displayed Hi Noel, sorry for the erroneous posts below, slip of the finger. I changed the download behaviour of hotmail into WLM from headers to messages to force a server error report, which follows. ############################################ Windows Live Mail could not download the requested message. To send and receive messages in your Hotmail account, go to http://hotmail.live.com on the Web, or try again later. To get help from Windows Live Customer Support, go to http://support.live.com and click Windows Live Mail in the list of services. Subject 'test' Server Error: 0x8000FFFF Server: 'http://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx' Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x8000FFFF ##################################################### test refers to the message header i sent myslef from another account. hope this helps K "Ildhund" wrote: Quote: > Was there no error message other than what you quote? | | Re: Message could not be displayed You're not the only one with finger trouble. I forgot most of what I should have written... 1. It's important to specify your OS; the response may well be different for XP and Vista, 32- or 64-bit. 2. What AV are you running? Is it configured to scan email? If it is, tell it not to. As Symantec, for example, admit at http://tinyurl.com/bhsva : "Disabling email scanning does not leave you unprotected against viruses that are distributed as email attachments." Lots of problems have been associated with AV, particularly Norton and McAfee. I don't recall a single one with either Avast! or AVG, which both have free versions. That said, the error message you're getting is pretty unhelpful - it just means 'something went wrong.' You could try removing the account, rebooting and then setting it up again to see if that helps. If none of this works, you'll have to appeal to support at https://support.live.com/eform.aspx?...top&ct=eformts Sorry not to have a magic wand to wave. -- Noel "Kevin and Seri" <KevinandSeri@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:7A23F928-4799-47D0-B6A9-49BD0E08BF08@xxxxxx Quote: > Hi Noel, sorry for the erroneous posts below, slip of the finger. > > I changed the download behaviour of hotmail into WLM from headers to > messages to force a server error report, which follows. > > ############################################ > Windows Live Mail could not download the requested message. | | Re: Message could not be displayed No problem Noel, just for information we run XP SP2, and i've already disabled AVG email checking and called up MS-Support :-) Thanks for taking the time to respond anyway, I think personally that MS servers are cocked up yet again regards, K "Ildhund" wrote: Quote: > You're not the only one with finger trouble.
