Vista - Only new emails for Hotmail

How do I set it so it wont download all the emails in my hotmail account that
I've got stored online for the last few years? It's a new machine and I only
want it to download the new mail.

Is that even possible??

No, it is not.
If it's a Hotmail account, synchronization makes all available. Disabling synchronization stops all incoming.
Clicking on any folder in a Hotmail account in a local client pulls the contents down.

WLM cannot make the difference between old and new mail messages. However you
can completely disable synchronization for each folder, then only messages
you opened will be retrieved from the server.

To disable synchronization, right click on each folder, Synchronization
Settings>Only headers. Note that headers will always be downloaded, their
total size is not very big, so I don't think it will cause a real problem.
