Formatting a photo

I HATE Windows Live Mail, first of all, but it looks like it's being thrust
down our throats. I'm looking in the meantime for another program because I
don't see this one being the ultimate solution for me, but for the time
being I'm using it reluctantly.

The thing is, I am frustrated because in Outlook Express, I used to be able
to Insert a photograph and format the alignment right or left, and the
horizontal spacing vertically and horizontally so that the text in the
message flowed around the photograph.

Now it seems all you can do is stick in a photograph and your text resides
stupidly at the top or bottom.

IS there a way to format alignment/spacing as in Outlook Express that I'm
missing, or is this just yet another decision made by Microsoft for me that
it considers "not necessary"???

Re: Formatting a photo

Have you tried clicking on the Layout button? Here you can choose to have
your text on the bottom, left or right of the picture.

Re: Formatting a photo

Yes, but it doesn't work the way I want it to as I often include more than
one photo. With OE, I could simply do all the text and intersperse the
photos at the appropriate place into the paragraphs and wrap text around it,
much the same way you'd see them on a web page.

With this infernal thing, there doesn't seem to be any option to do this.

It boils down to this: when people get accustomed to certain features that
THEY (not Microsoft) feel are useful and desirable, they don't much like it
when those things are taken away.

I have pretty much decided to take the Microsoft-type solution to my
problem: I'm probably going to keep Outlook Express and dump my Hotmail
accounts.

Re: Formatting a photo

You may want to investigate FreePOPs as an alternate solution:

Re: Formatting a photo

what you are looking for is the WYSIWYG editor...

we will just have to bite out lips till the WLM programmers figures out how
to actually make software before we'd get those standard features in place.
or it could be that they are designing WLM for retards only, maybe even
rolling out features in an agile process to get the community involved, or
it could be one of the director is an evil jive turkey and w/ all the IQ he
has he's doing this to sabotage the future MS and run it down to the ground.
who knows...
