Windows error message for SP1

I have just received an error message from windows problem reports and
solution (after frequent nonrespondance of internet explorer and its frequent
stopping from work)
informing me that I must download and instale service pack 1 for windows
vista to solve this problem, So I am very surprising because I have been
succesfully downloading &instslling (SPI for vista) since 19/03/2008 throught
my windows update and it is written in windows definition in my computer
properties, SO please help me for this error.
