It's a test

It's a test, the DAV going away thing. They want to see now many people
will switch to DeltaSync of their own accord. If you want to keep using
Outlook Express, the best thing you can do is keep using it. Otherwise,
when June 30, 2008 rolls around, they'll be able to say,

"Look, DAV isn't necessary at all,
Since now no one is even using it.
We got everyone to use
The Windows Live Mail client!
O, wonder!
How many goodly creatures are there here!
How beauteous mankind is!
O brave new world,
That has such people in t! "*

You'd better believe they keep stats of server load and which protocol is
being used, and you'd better believe they wouldn't cut off a couple million
users sudden-like on June 30, 2008. Or would they?

Saludos cordiales,

Earle

Re: It's a test

Judging from similar past events, most (clueless) users will ignore
the announcement and blithely keep on using Hotmail via OE until
it stops working. And I'm confident that MS is serious about stopping
WebDAV. Batten down the hatches for June 30th!

Re: It's a test

Probably true, but it does depend to some extent on the numbers. These will
be interesting groups to read on the 30th either way.

Re: It's a test

It's a good way to get people to stop using Hotmail, IMHO. WLM has been
nothing but a pain for me and I tried it on three separate occasions.
