Separate Email Notification Icon?

Is there a way to have a separate Email Notification icon in the system tray?

WLM makes only a subtle change to the icon it keeps constantly in the system
tray when new mail arrives -- that's not enough of a visual queue. I
formerly used Outlook Express where there was no icon until a new email item
arrived, and then it displayed a vivid icon in the system tray. That was a
good visual queue.

Is there any way to mimic this behavior in WLM? That is, have the new mail
notification show as a separate icon? That way, I can tell the system tray
to hid the WLM icon but show the NewMail icon.

Thanks.

Re: Separate Email Notification Icon?

To get a more vivid notification you'd have to switch to
Windows Live Mail and also download Windows Live Messenger.

Re: Separate Email Notification Icon?

Sorry, I thought I was replying to a Windows Mail user.
Anyway, the part about Messenger still applies.

Email Notification

Can you suggest a way in which a prompt can be received by my computer notifying me that an email has arrived in one of my email accounts registered with Windows Live Messenger? Best regards Ron W J Lee.

Re: Email Notification

Log-on to Messenger using the LiveID associated with one of your (Hotmail)
accounts.
