| Guest | "From" name changed in newsgroup posting Hi - I just posted a query in alt.backup-software, using the server I'm using now, and when the message appeared, the name in the "From" column was "Me again" and the headers quote a spoofed email address that I used ages ago (me@xxxxxx). I stopped using that when someone pointed out it could be someone's real domain name. But the name I'm posting under at present is "wasted" and has been for some time, so why does that post appear with a different name and an old spoofed email address. Hopefully this post will appear as from "wasted" Thanks |

1. This wasn't the server I was using of course, because this is the MS server. 2. I totally forgot when I came to view the newsgroup today (having posted my original message last night) that I had actually posted it using an old computer because this one was dismantled whilst decorating was going on - and I'd never gotten around to changing newsgroup account settings on that one. | ||||||||||||
