Quotefix for Live Mail?

Has anyone developed a Quotefix equivalent for Live Mail? Replying to
newsgroups is a bit of a mess like it is in Outlook Express, but I
discovered Quotefix just a couple of months ago, just as I need to abandon
Outlook Express (because of impending loss of Hotmail support).

Quotefix basically fixes the replies so they looked something like this:

rather than leave in all the extraneous stuff like:

I don't recall that OE-QuoteFix (OEQF) did anything regarding the
trimming of attribution lines within the quoted material. It did, at
one time, let you alter what attribution line that YOU added in your
reply but that died after service pack 2 for Windows XP along with other
functions in OEQF.

Like OE, WLM doesn't let you specify what attribution line you will use
in your replies. OEQF was abandoned 5 years ago. No one took it up to
update it. The choice is to suffer with Microsoft's old and new
NNTP-enabled offerings or use something else for newsgroups.

I wrote its creator, Mr. Jain, about that sometime ago. No response.

You might test a Mozilla mail client, such as Thunderbird (often teamed
with the FireFox browser)...

Or the mail element in the SeaMonkey browser suite, which is what I use
here. No quote problems.

Didn't Jain die (and that's why OEQF got abandoned)?

Had not heard that...but it certainly would be a reason for his absence.
