all folders don't download from pop account

all folders don't download from pop account (yahoo) I do have the extended
service on the account but WLM only downloads the in, sent, drafts, junk and
deleted folders.

Itried creating them manually but they won't synch either. how do I fix?

Re: all folders don't download from pop account

POP accounts only download from the Inbox folder on the server.
I don't know what you mean by Yahoo "extended service."
Yahoo's premium service (called Mail Plus) is for standard POP access.
For a non-Microsoft account, you would need IMAP service to
get syncing of all the folders.

Re: all folders don't download from pop account

The only folder that downloads from Yahoo POP3 account is Inbox and
optionally Bulk folder. Settings on the Yahoo web site control whether
or not the Bulk folder is downloaded and if [BULK] should be added to
the subject.

The other folders that you are seeing in WLM are local to WLM and not
related to the Yahoo folders. POP3 doesn't support folders. The
protocol has no way to indicate that messages are from/for a specific
folder. Everything will download into the WLM Inbox, unless you have
message rules to redirect them (such as checking the subject of [BULK])
or WLM spam processing is enabled.

No, the only "folder" getting downloaded if you use POP is the Inbox.
POP only has a concept of a mailbox. There are no folders inside your
mailbox. That is something separate created in the webmail interface to
your account to differentiate storage space in your account. The Inbox
shown there is the only one that is actually your mailbox, what POP
clients will see. POP queries the mailbox to get a list of messages,
figures out which ones it previously retrieved, and downloads the ones
not in its list (i.e., the new messages). Since there are no "folders"
in the mailbox when using POP, your e-mail client cannot download
anything other than items from your one mailbox (aka Inbox). Read:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Post_office_protocol

If you want an e-mail account that synchronizes on folders between those
on the mail host and those in your e-mail client then get an IMAP
account. I don't know that Yahoo Mail provides IMAP accounts. Read:

Re: all folders don't download from pop account

To echo and add additional info..
For a Yahoo Plus account, the 'contents' of the Bulk folder are downloaded when the pop3 new message option is configured to enable
receipt of all messages[including Spam]. A separate check box/toggle is necessary for the addition of the 'Bulk' prefix to the
message subject
