How much mail can inbox hold?

I have been offline for over a week and with junk mail etc. when I open Live
Mail my screen shows that I have over 250,000 messages unread.
However my programme won't go further than that - when i click on the icon
for unread mail, the programme freezes with a "not responding" message.
Is this because of tte sheer size of the inbox? If so, how can i get it to
load so that i can delete it?
Regards
John

Re: How much mail can inbox hold?

I've got more than 250,000 messages spread across multiple email accounts
loaded into WLM and haven't come across this problem (although I haven't had
that many unread admittedly).
One way to do it would be to sign into the web interface (www.hotmail.com or
whichever provider you use) and mark all as read or clean them up in the web
client first.

Re: How much mail can inbox hold?

It would help if you would add some information.
How many accounts?
What type of accounts? pop, imap, http
Are you looking at unread in Quick views?
Can you check each Inbox?
