Milo: Envelope icon in bottom right never goes away

When I open Windows Live, that little envelope icon sits in the system tray
whether i have mail waiting or not. How do i make it show up only when I
have mail?

Re: Envelope icon in bottom right never goes away

There is a white envelope icon while WLM is running.
It turns gold when new mail has arrived.
Try this: Right-click on the taskbar, Properties, Notification Area,
Hide inactive icons, Customize...

Re: Envelope icon in bottom right never goes away

THink we may be on different operating systems (I'm on XP) because I can't
follow that path you led me through. When I right-click on the taskbar, I
get two tabs: Taskbar and StartMenu.

I have a feeling that the equivalent to what you're saying is for me the
click the "Customize" button there, which takes me to Customized
Notifications. For Windows Live, i've tried "Always Hide" (which never shows
an icon) and Hide When Inactive (which always shows the white one). Isn't
there any way to say "only put something there when there's incoming mail"?
I don't need an icon to tell me that WL is open...I'm quite aware of that
already. :-)

Re: Envelope icon in bottom right never goes away

Sorry, my directions were for Vista. Sounds like you found the
XP equivalent. If that did not have the desired result, I'm afraid
there is no solution.
