| | Recovered items What is the "recovered items" folder for ? When I installed WLM, it appeared in the "storage folders". It also contains a subfolder whose name is a date, it appears, but it is empty. Thanks in advance. Mike |

| | Re: Recovered items Items are recovered when for some reason message info didn't get written to the database on shutdown. This can happen for all sorts of reasons - you moved a bunch of files and then closed the program down before it had quite completed its housekeeping, or a newsgroup was in the middle of synchronizing when you switched to mail or closed down. They get put into a Recovered items folder, but then the program will try and find out where they should be and move them to the right folder. This leaves the Recovered items folder empty. You can safely ignore it; in the current version of the program (12.0.1606) if you delete it, your Quick views will start to malfunction and have to be repaired. A search for "repair quick views" should bring up a number of posts telling you how to do this. -- Noel "Mike" <Mike@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:8B1DA862-7A79-45B9-A6A9-9FD1850F3135@xxxxxx Quote: > What is the "recovered items" folder for ? | | Re: Recovered items Hi, Mike. Just to echo Noel's comments... When I first started using WLM (still in beta then) about a year ago, I had to deal with several Recovered Items folders. I had a bumpy transition from OE to WM to WLM beta and finally to WLM gold. So there were several partially-completed moves along the way, resulting in those multiple folders. But they all got resolved; I fixed some (I don't recall how) and some fixed themselves. I can't recall seeing any Recovered Items for the past year or so. ;<) RC -- R. C.
