How to send mail again

After many tries, the only solution to being able to end e-mail was to go
back to Windows Mail which is supported by my server (Wildblue/Gmail). No
one at Wildblue or Gmail (Wildblue called them) could figure out why I
stopped being able to send mail (Unknown error 0x800CCC0B) through Windows
Live Mail.

So, to anyone having sending problems, try Windows Mail and see if the
problem continues.

Re: How to send mail again

The Email engine in both is quite common.

It's possible a corruption occurred in the account migration or some other reason.

Although trying Windows Mail as a functional test may only apply to those using Wildblue mail.

Was the problem account deleted in WLM.
Original WM account exported as an iaf file in WM
Imported as an iaf account file in WLM
Turn off the AV, Turn off any resident 3rd party firewall, enable Window's firewall
Then attempted.?.

Re: How to send mail again

Email uses common protocols (POP3, SMTP). There is no reason
why one email client would work and another one doesn't.
It's like saying Highway 101 can be driven with a Ford but not
with a Chevy. If your copy of WLM did not work, it was
corrupted.

Re: How to send mail again

All accounts were deleted, computer re-started, and new account opened -
same error.
There was no WM account to be exported.
OneCare virus was turned off as well as the firewall, but it made no
difference.
Wildblue could only determine that WLM is not supported (but WM is). They
couldn't explain why it worked and then suddenly stopped sending mail.
I miss the bells and whistles on WLM but have to be happy that WM operates
properly.

Re: How to send mail again

What would cause it to suddenly become corrupted???? And....would an
uninstall and reinstall work?

Re: How to send mail again

Hard to say what could have caused it to become corrupted.
It could have been caused by almost any third party security program.
You could try uninstall & reinstall, but there's no guarantee of success.
