| Guest | In Windows Live Mail, how do I choose synchronization settings for newsgroups? How do I choose synchronization settings for newsgroups? Greetings all, In Outlook Express, I used to be able to click on the news server, and it would fill the right pane with all of my subscribed newsgroups. Then, I could highlight as many as I wished and change the synchronization setting all of those selected groups at once. But I can't find a way to do this in Live Mail. Does anyone know if there is a way? Thanks all, - Stan |

was slick and easy to do. Windows Live Mail in some respects is a step backwards in usability. The one thing that is driving me a bit crazy is the inability of WLM to automatically expand the last message in the message listing of a newsgroup if there are unread messages under it and you read the first message. In OE, reading any message including the last message if it had collapsed unread messages under it, would automatically expand the thread so that the unread messages could be read. In addition, if you are at the bottom of the message list and read the last message, WML logic is that there are no more unread messages in the newsgroup and will not take you to another unread message like OE did. -- Ron P If we are what we eat then: I'm fast, cheap and easy and past my best before date

unread messages here, do you want to go to the next NG, click No. Then press Ctrl+U for Next Unread Message and WLM will start again from the top of the list and find the first unread message in the current NG. (I've programmed one of my mouse buttons to send Ctrl+U; that's why I said "an extra click.) And I agree that WLM's inability to set synchronization for multiple NGs is a step backwards. :>{ RC -- R. other than clicking on "Previous" as all other buttons for reading messages are greyed out and useless. All that is available to me is: Reply Group, Reply, Forward, Blog, Print and Previous. In addition, non of the keyboard commands work such as ctrl U or ctrl shift u. If I am not reading the last message in the listing, all works as it should. -- Ron P If we are what we eat then: I'm fast, cheap and easy and past my best before date

the "extra click" you really need is to get off that last message line. <eg> E.g. go back one line, *then* you can press Ctrl-u (Ctrl-Shift-U would just get you back into the same difficulty.) ; ) BTW I use Automatically expand grouped messages and I get the same symptom with the real bottom line when there are still unread messages above. I have to get off that last line before I can use *any* command than Previous (Ctrl-<)
One example, among many... ; ] Robert ---
