Inbound Mail - how many?

After clicking send/receive Outlook Express will open a window and connect
to the mail server then report how many messages are about to be received.
The count decreases to 0 then the process is repeated for each mailbox.

The bottom right corner animation of WLM is close to useless. Is there a
similar window to OE that provides more information?

I "leave messages on server" for 3 days. OE also tells me how much server
space is in use by the 3 days mail. Will WLM tell me the same?

Thank you.

Re: Inbound Mail - how many?

Don,
While WLM is still performing the send/receipt task..clicking on the systray icon or Control M(Tools/Send-Receive/Send Receive All)
will cause the dialog box to appear.
WLM messages are counted in bytes instead of quantity of messages.
WLM does not provide server storage. I don't recall ever noticing that in OE in years of use, but I had no reason to look for it.

Re: Inbound Mail - how many?

Thank you for the tip. Now that I can use it I see there are 299 messages
(125 mb) on the server. Perfect!

Yes, WLM doesn't do server storage but there's a configuration thingy to
"leave messages on server" for an indefinite period or a specified # of
days. I use 3 days. Thus if I happen to receive an email within the last 3
days and I'm at a friends house I can retrieve the mail on his PC with
Webmail (UGH!).

dd

Thank you again.
