| | Cannot Save Email Passwords I have migrated from OE to WLM but cannot get WLM to save the Email passwords even with the save password option checked. In other words each time WLM checks for email from each POP account and Hot Mail I have to enter the password even though I have save password checked. I am running Windows XP SP2 and cannot get a response from Microsoft support. |

| | Re: Cannot Save Email Passwords You've probably already checked this but just to make sure :- Go to Tools/Accounts. Click on an email account and select Properties then click on the Server Tab. Make sure your email address is entered, enter your password and make sure the Save Password box is checked. Click Apply then Click OK. That should save your password. If it still doesn't then I'd suggest un-installing/re-installing as something may have gotten corrupted during the install process. | | Re: Cannot Save Email Passwords I have the same problem. All boxes checked to save, but none are. In fact the password boxes become blank as the check-box is checked to save! Un-install, re-boot, re-install, reboot - no change When first installed 6 weeks or so ago, Windows Live did save passwords. The password problem started two weeks ago. Maybe from a Windows update? Any other ideas? | | Re: Cannot Save Email Passwords Using XP Home SP3 I tried this, and it did not help :-( Once logged in to Windows Live, my Hotmail logs automatically - even if I close WLM. But, this auto login for WL and Hotmail is lost once I re-boot. My POP accounts passwords never are remembered (it was like this before I tried the fix). Thanks. | | Re: Cannot Save Email Passwords No windows Profile password WL Sign-in Assistant is installed No Network Accounts As I said, all was well until about two weeks ago. Something changed - I suspect from a Windows update. Just received a message from Microsoft that OE will still access HM past the announced June 30 deadline, so I may go back to OE and ditch WLM. Thanks, Randy "...winston" wrote: Quote: > In addition to the other suggestions, some of the following have impacted password memory in the past ? > > Using a password on your Windows Profile ? > Is the Windows Live Sign-In Assistant installed ? > Deleted all Network accounts in Control Panel/User Accounts/Select User Account(yours)/Manage My Network Passwords ? > > -- > ...winston > ms-mvp mail > > > "randy" <randy@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:1F1E742E-96C8-4AA0-8BD7-493382BB24C2@xxxxxx Quote: > > Using XP Home SP3 > > I tried this, and it did not help :-( > > Once logged in to Windows Live, my Hotmail logs automatically - even if I > > close WLM. I don't recall any Windows updates that impacted the o/s engine, if you do determine an update as the issue, please inform the group.
