outlook express opens with WLM

when I open WLM, outlook express opens as well. WLM is set as my default
mail program. how can I stop this???

How is it that you open WLM? Assuming that you are using a shortcut,
right click the short cut and look at Properties. It should say:

"C:\Program Files\Windows Live\Mail\wlmail.exe"

Being the default mail program only comes into play when another program
(e.g. Internet Explorer) wants to send a mail message.

Are you perhaps on a dial-up connection? If so, is WLM dialing the
connection when it opens? Some ISPs install Connection Manager software
that when the Internet connection is made, it starts a list of programs.
If that software was set to start OE when the connection is made, that
that is your issue. You'll need to change the settings in the program.
Check with your ISP.
