Re: Problems With Mail Live already. Is it a Norton Issue?

Norton could be an issue.

With some anti-virus (and anti-spam) programs, simply disabling the
e-mail scanning function doesn't really disable it. It simply tells the
program not to flag any messages. It still processes all the messages
and may still cause send/receive problems. What you may need to do is
uninstall the anti-virus program, then reinstall it using a custom
install option and unselect the e-mail scanning component for
installation.

Re: Problems With Mail Live already. Is it a Norton Issue?

Norton may be causing your problem.
Replace Norton with the free AVG http://free.grisoft.com/ or Avast
http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html, and Windows Firewall and Windows
Defender. Disabling Norton is not enough. You need to completely uninstall
it. If it doesn't solve the problem, get rid of Norton anyway. Norton is
known to cause many problems which don’t always appear immediately.
Download and run the Norton Removal Tool.

Re: Problems With Mail Live already. Is it a Norton Issue?

Yeah, I had this issue before with Vista Mail and didn't unistall and just
upgrade to WLM. But it's happening again. I'm gonna unistall Norton cause
the forum had said Norton will always be an issue. Right now, what ever it
is, is sending all my incoming mail to the spam folder and still giving me
error messages when I try work in WLM.
I'm going to try Avast Home. What do U think?

Re: Problems With Mail Live already. Is it a Norton Issue?

Both Avast and AVG are good.

AVG free edition:
http://free.grisoft.com/doc/5390/us/frt/0?prd=aff
or
Avast free edition:
http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html

With either of those, during the install phase you must select custom
install, and then deselect the email scanning module.

Re: Problems With Mail Live already. Is it a Norton Issue?

Bob, I followed all directions un-installing Norton and installing Avast.
WLM still takes long to load and still says "An unknown error has occurred."
I'm wondering if I should un-install MLV and re-install it again. How can I
do that or should I try something else?

Re: Problems With Mail Live already. Is it a Norton Issue?

If you installed the Avast email scanner, uninstall Avast, reboot, and
reinstall without the email scanner?

What's MLV?
