Greetings again, In the main view of WLM, the leftmost pane (the' folders pane'), one can have one folder highlit. The built-in color choice is a bit too subtle for my taste. Is there any way to change the colors used within WLM? Thanks all, - Stan |

Yes you can but only using the preset built-in ones.
Simply right click then select 'Change color' and pick a color you wish. Colin Brown WL MVP "Stan Shankman" <stantheman@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:egfrG3ztIHA.4772@xxxxxx

Using XP/Home SP3
Right Click what, if I right click the folder I don't see a "Change color" option The only Color Option I have is the color palette under the brush next to the Views button, that allows me to choose a color for the title bar. The folders panel is not effected by the settings in Desktop->Properties->Appearance->Advanced, whereas the Message list and Message body panels are effected by the settings in Desktop->Properties->Appearance->Advanced. -- TUT __________________________________ "Colin Brown WLMVP" <Hackersoft1@xxxxxx> wrote in message news 38E8526-CE9A-4CD2-940F-738A395FD04A@xxxxxx

Noel,
Got it! I was looking at newsgroups, on which Set Color is absent; rather than "real" folders, as opposed to Quick Viewswhere the Set Color is also absent. This sets the color of the icons for the folders in the account (storage folders being an account in this context). It does not actually assist in identifying which folder is current - simplest thing would be to use the standard settings to highlight the current item as in the message list pane and to provide option to show mail folder path in Title bars (hence a reply compose window might have something like - "Storage Folders->Staff->Joe Blow->Re : You're Fired" in the Title Bar) -- TUT __________________________________ "Ildhund" <jnllb@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:OvZE05LuIHA.4848@xxxxxx

Colin,
I don't know what you mean "Simply right click". Right click on what? I have tried all the expected things, and I see now color option on the right click menu. Be a little more specific, how do I change the highlight color in the folders pane? - Stan "Colin Brown WLMVP" <Hackersoft1@xxxxxx> wrote in message news 38E8526-CE9A-4CD2-940F-738A395FD04A@xxxxxx

Right-clicking on any folder name should give you a "Set color"
option. However, this only changes the color of the little icon in front of that group of folder names. It does not change the highlighting color, which I agree is way too subtle. -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP "Stan Shankman" <stantheman@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:eiRPvOcuIHA.552@xxxxxx
