I should have clarified that all info was applicable to XP. And note it was specifically and only applicable to Nav2003 or NSW2003
which are not even close to Vista compatible.
Fyi....I've tested all these AV apps and each has caused issues in Vista with scanning installed but disabled when using Windows
Mail(Norton 360, NAV 08, NIS08, Avast, AVG).
Outlook07 on Vista on the other hand, seems to quite tolerant when email scanning is disabled for Norton360, NAV 08, Avast,
AVG(custom install only- no email engine).
Currently using Kaspersky stand-alone and Nod32... imo, so far on Vista after 17 mos, 13 mos respectively, two different pcs, they
have functioned without fail with and without email scanning enabled. I keep turning email scanning back on for a few weeks on both
units, sending/receiving from/to OL, Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo, Earthlink with max permissable file attachments sizes and waiting for
an error or timeout to occur for these two products, nothing so far. Each, in its stand-alone version should perform well on almost
all systems, the latter(Nod32) would be my choice since it has worked flawlessly and its small footprint(21MB Program Files). If
I had to choose a free version for Vista or XP it would be Avast.
