'fuuny' Qindows Live error. Does anyone know how to resolve?...

....."Unable to send or receive messages for the Hotmail (my account name)
account. For security reasons, this e-mail account has been temporarily
deactivated. A picture containing letters and numbers will appear when you
close this window. To reactivate your account, enter the characters you see
in the picture.

Subject 'another test from Hotmail to Gmail...'
Server Error: 3209
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x8DE00006"...
Any takers to help on this?...

Try accessing the Hotmail account via the Hotmail web site. Sounds line
Hotmail thinks the account has been taken over by a spambot. You should
get the screen that the message mentions via the web site.

Re: 'fuuny' Qindows Live error. Does anyone know how to resolve?..

The access via the web is fine. No issues are reported that I can tell...

This behavior occured 'just like that' after a couple of days using Windows
Live (I have been using Outlook Express 'for years' without any problems and
switched only once MS annouced that OE will not be able to be used as a
client application for Hotmail service...).
Very furstrating and not useful , since the action requested in the error
message has a 'dead end' without any clue to WHERE to find the 'mysterious'
"a picture containing letters and numbers will appear when you close this
window". This message appear in the Windows Live status pop-up window when
forcing send/receive function from the client software...
Anytakers for help on this?...

I was having the same problem so I removed my hotmail account from WLM and
then put it back in and it seems to be okay now.

Re: 'fuuny' Qindows Live error. Does anyone know how to resolve?..

Indeed, your suggestion works !
It is one of those 'mysteries' of software (?) that requires you to do
things that indicate faulty design (e.g. an error message that leads you to a
dead end...).
I have remove the account and than created it again and the problem was
gone...

It would be nice if the folks who write the software pay attention to these
user inputs and try to figure out how to be more complete...

Thanks again,
Sam
