Could you please be a little more vague? Seriously, are you trying to say
that your correspondents, who have Hotmail accounts, are sending email to
your (presumably) non-Hotmail account, and they are bouncing? Or is it that
you are sending from your Hotmail account to your correspondents, and
getting bounces?

Re: What's going on now?

Yes, I could have been more vague but I just didn't want to confuse the heck
out of even more people. LOL

Mail FROM POP3 ISP account to correspondents who have HOTMAIL accounts who I
regularly e-mail and e-mailed yesterday. I know what you are going to say,
it's a Hotmail problem, not a WLMail problem. Sorry to have bothered with
this trivial question here instead of going to the source of the problem.

I'll go kneel in the corner on beans now.

Actually, because you are not a Hotmail customer, they probably won't listen
to you; they never listen to their customers, as it is. OTOH, your POP3
account provider might be able to get somewhere. Or not; depends upon
whether they are a major player (such as AT&T, or Comcast), or a bit
smaller. So you could contact your own provider's postmaster about the
problem. Hotmail has been known to ignore, or brush off smaller mail hosts,
though; so, if your postmaster tells you he doesn't want to Tango, or Rumba
with Hotmail, you will probably have to advise your correspondents to
consider switching to Gmail (and to tell Hotmail why they are doing so, if
they do). Hotmail generates revenue by eyes on the ads; if they start
bleeding customers, their ad space loses value to the marketers.

Just don't be sacrificing any virgins; they are in short supply these days.

Re: What's going on now?

Well, I'm with Comcast, so if it does continue, maybe I'll have to contact
them and find out why I'm having the problem.

And no virgins were harmed in the creation of this message.

Re: What's going on now?

Hotmail has blacklisted you, or all of "@comcast.net" as a source of spam.
Getting blacklisted is easy. Getting unlisted is the tricky part. This is
a Hotmail problem. They won't pay any attention to you as a Comcast
customer if you complain. Comcast may be able to do something if you call
them. I wouldn't be holding my breath.

Saludos cordiales,

Earle

When you do contact Comcast, ask them about this:

http://www.spamcop.net/sc?id=z189750...0157b1c318624z

That is a SpamCop.net "tracker". The entire message is linked, there. I got
that message to a Hotmail account I have; and I reported it to Hotmail as
spam. If you examine the parse, and the headers, you will see that it was
sent through a Comcast mailhost named,
'QMTA06.emeryville.ca.mail.comcast.net' You will also see that a mailhost
named, 'OMTA08.emeryville.ca.mail.comcast.net with comcast' claims to have
received it from a European dyamic IP host, '234.143.87-79.rev.gaoland.net'.
I'd like to know how a Comcast mailhost was induced to relay for a
'gaoland.net' IP address.

Enough such Hotmail user reports (I clicked on the "Junk" button in Windows
Live Mail) and Hotmail would block the Comcast mailhost called,
'QMTA06.emeryville.ca.mail.comcast.net'. This is an issue of Comcast
mailhosts sending spam. Comcast needs to fix it.

Re: What's going on now?

Larry,
I don't have Comcast, if not already remedied, I've read quite a few messages from folks on Comcast rejecting Hotmail messages.

I am having the same Exact problem. Here is the error code that I am getting?

Final-recipient: rfc822; zarilla00@xxxxxx
Action: failed
Status: 5.1.1
Diagnostic-Code: smtp; 550 SC-004 Mail rejected by Windows Live Hotmail for
policy reasons. A block has been placed against your IP address because we
have received complaints concerning mail coming from that IP address. If you

I have both a Comcast and a Hotmail account. Everything that I send out of
my comcast account to a hotmail account is now being blocked.
