Live Mail - Stored Files That are Safe to Delete

Since installing Windows Live Mail, the program is storing large test files
in the "local settings/application/Windows Live Mail" folder. Six are
"edb000xx.log" where xx is a two digit sequential number. All the files are
the same size, 2,097,152 bytes. Another is "WindowsLiveMail.log" and it's
5meg+ and growing. Can these be safely deleted?
Thanks,

Re: Live Mail - Stored Files That are Safe to Delete

Those are recovery files that WLM will use in case it gets into problems
with your message store. I don't recommend deleting them manually.

When you go through the regular Compacting process, WLM will get rid of
what it doesn't need any more.

Look at Tools, Options, Advanced, Maintenance Advanced. The default is
compact on every 100th closing. You can adjust that. If you want to
force a compacting, set to 1, then close WLM. You will be prompted to
allow or not the cleanup.

To add...
If compacting fails, after a reset to '1', open WLM, click File/Offline/ then close WLM.
